About the Role
We are looking for an SAP UI5 Developer to work on the ReleaseOwl SAP-native DevOps and release automation product. The developer will build UI5 product screens using strong JavaScript skills and consume OData/REST services from SAP/Non SAP systems and SAP BTP.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop SAP UI5/Fiori screens for ReleaseOwl product modules.
- Write clean and reusable JavaScript code using SAP UI5 best practices.
- Work with XML views, controllers, fragments, models, routing, and data binding.
- Consume OData and REST services from Non SAP, SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and SAP BTP.
- Create reusable UI components and custom UI5 controls where required.
- Handle validations, error messages, busy indicators, and user interactions.
- Work closely with ABAP, integration, QA, and product teams.
- Fix UI issues reported during customer implementations or product releases.
- Follow Git commits, code reviews, and versioned release practices.
- Prepare basic technical documentation for developed screens.
Required Skills
- Strong JavaScript skills.
- Good understanding of SAP UI5 framework and MVC architecture.
- Experience with XML views, controllers, fragments, models, routing, and data binding.
- Strong in custom control creation in UI5.
- Good knowledge of SAP Fiori concepts, FLP, tiles, catalogs, groups, and roles.
- Experience in consuming OData services in UI5.
- Good working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS.
- Basic understanding of authentication and role-based access in SAP.
- Good debugging skills using browser developer tools.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with product and presales teams.
Good to Have
- Experience with SAP BTP or Cloud Foundry.
- Experience with Git.
- Basic knowledge of SAP backend objects, CDS views, or OData services.
- Experience working in a product team.
