SAP ALM Consultant

Role Summary:

We are looking for an SAP ALM Consultant with strong hands-on experience in SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) and SAP Cloud ALM to support ReleaseOwl customer implementations. This role focuses on ALM process design, configuration, rollout, and integration alignment so customers achieve end to end traceability, governance, approvals, and audit ready release execution using ReleaseOwl with their SAP ALM setup.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead SAP Solution Manager implementation, upgrade, configuration, and support across ALM processes.
2. Implement SAP Cloud ALM tenant setup including scope enablement, users, roles, project structure, and governance.
3. Drive SolMan to Cloud ALM transition or coexistence planning, including process mapping and operating model.
4. Configure and operationalize SolMan capabilities based on customer needs:
   1. ChaRM (change and release processes, approvals, transport tracking)
   2. ITSM (incidents, problems, service requests, workflows)
   3. Test Suite (test plans, test execution, defects, reporting)
   4. System Monitoring and Business Process Monitoring
   5. Focused Build (nice to have)
5. Retrofit ownership and consulting:
   1. Define retrofit strategy for parallel tracks (project vs maintenance) and multi landscape scenarios
   2. Configure and govern ChaRM retrofit where applicable (retrofit cycle setup, import/export, approval gates)
   3. Support conflict identification, dependency handling, sequencing, and rework guidance during retrofit
   4. Ensure traceability of retrofit decisions and outcomes in ALM records and align with ReleaseOwl governance
6. Run customer workshops, gather requirements, document solution designs, and produce configuration workbooks and runbooks.
7. Support cutover, hypercare, stabilization, and operational handover.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. 5+ years of hands on experience with SAP Solution Manager.
2. Hands on experience implementing SAP Cloud ALM (mandatory).
3. Strong understanding of ALM and ITSM processes: change, release, incident, test, monitoring, documentation governance.
4. Proven configuration experience in at least 2 of these SolMan areas: ChaRM, ITSM, Test Suite, Monitoring, Focused Build.
5. Good understanding of SAP landscapes, transports, release cycles, and integration touchpoints.
6. Good understanding of retrofit concepts and execution in SAP landscapes, including parallel development streams, conflict handling, and transport sequence management.
7. Strong communication skills for customer workshops, documentation, and stakeholder management.

Nice to Have:

1. Strong hands on ChaRM retrofit configuration experience.
2. Exposure to SAP Focused Run.
3. Experience integrating with Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, CI/CD tools, or REST APIs.
4. Knowledge of SAP BTP (destinations, Cloud Connector) , CPI integration concepts and different services.
